"art gives the society a reason to think about imperceptible, to make them imagine, and today, our societies are developed over time through art"
Muhammad (PBUH), the last Prophet, the successor of all the prophets was sent down on this earth including Jesus and Moses by God. Prophets were sent to guide the people to become humans, to maintain humanity in the society.
The message and actions of Muhammad (PBUH) changed the course of the history forever and for all the prospective people. His message proved that he turned personages from intelligent animals to humans.
“An ink of a scholar is holier than the blood of a martyr” Muhammad (PBUH)
If we dig deep inside this quote and explicate importance he urged over an ink of a scholar than the blood of a martyr, we will see that his message was meant for the whole humanity.
We must argue with a piece of a paper and pen, we must argue with a wise use of tongue but we cannot argue with hate. We cannot potentially argue with the use of weapons and arms. The use of weapons and arms is a sign to take control of the mind by force, of any creature with a living soul.
Weapons are the signs of hate as it involves bloodshed regardless who uses them, be it army, a terrorist, freedom fighter, or anybody conducting a criminal act of killing or forcing people to believe in one’s ideology.
Like terrorism is an idea, a set of beliefs followed by a group or individuals. To fight an idea, we need ideas and knowledge. We cannot fight an idea with weapons and hate. Fighting over an idea with weapons and hate creates multiple followers of the same ideology through sympathy.
To fight an idea, we need knowledge; we pursue dialogues and then try to achieve a middle point. The reason why the war on terrorism has not yet ended today, is because the world is fighting against an idea with hate and weapons, but the day knowledge intercepts the war, it will gradually end. It's undisguised that weak person from heart will always use his strongest weapon and a strong person will always use his weakest weapon in all situations to conquer the minds of the people.
The whole concept behind giving importance to a scholar over a solider is to make people learn to live in peace. We can only make people understand with the influence of knowledge. Knowledge is the power to conquer, knowledge is the essence to peace, and knowledge is the personal guide for all humanity.
These all-‐little letters makes up the whole book, so these little water droplets make up the whole oceans. Similar is the case with our mind and knowledge. It is important for the brain to store adequate pragmatic knowledge to deal with the daily life. But to be extraordinary we need to have better pieces of knowledge.
“Cleanliness is half faith” Muhammad (PBUH)
It’s astonishing for many to hear such a quote of Muhammad (PBUH) where he emphasized on cleanliness. The very few questions arises are why do we need to clean ourselves to have faith?
On an occasion to meet the king or the president, we would always want to be clean and dressed up. God is the King of kings, and to keep the faith alive, we remember God at all times or at least we try to. Before we present ourselves to King of kings, we ought to be clean.
Your whole body is a gift, and if we do not care for that gift and take it for granted, we are already in trouble. Think of people who got no eyes for a second, imagine how inquisitive they are about light. To keep the faith alive, we need to prove (to God) that by our actions. We need to appreciate the fact what we have and take care of it.
A dirty smelly man is not attractive, and is unpleasant to be surrounded by. May that man is most intellectual in that space, but if he cannot take a care of himself, world does not probably want him around, so may be the God too, unless reasons are justified.
Islam and Art come hand in hand for centuries. Today art can be found in Islam in many various forms.
When we look at the natural habitat, we are in trance with the creations of God. Creativity is an important persona of a human as they are not acting upon it, but imagining it.
The first kind of art, which was ever promoted by Muhammad (PBUH), was an art of singing. He asked the freed slave Bilal to sing the ‘Adaan’ (a call for prayers) with his beautiful melodious voice. Adaan was the poetry that came outside of Quran through a dream to a man named ‘Abdullah bin Zayd’ and later approved by Muhammad (PBUH).
Art is the best form of expressing oneself and Islam has always promoted the idea of self-‐expression in form of multiple kinds of art. Early days of Islamic history, people expressed their love for God through poetry and architecture. With time, the mosques were beautifully built, with work of gold and most expensive art.
Islam requires every follower to be creative on its own, to take further Gods message, to speak about beauty of God and His being. Among the famous cultures of artistic Islam, the most famous is ‘Sufi’. Sufi culture promotes singing, dancing and poetry all for the love of God. They try to link themselves with God through their artistic talent and believes.
Art gives the society a reason to think about imperceptible, to make them imagine, and today, our societies are developed over time through art.
